A group of final year architectural students from the WIT Department of Architecture recently exhibited in Garter Lane Arts Centre as part of a Project Space event.

Garter Lane Arts Centre and the Department of Architecture which is located in the Granary on O Connell Street regularly collaborate on creative projects.
The exhibition demonstrated the value of abstract models in expressing architectural ideas and emotions and is a sample of a small project which takes place each year in the first semester of 5th year architecture.

'..This is amazing creative student work' says Michael Hayes, Architect and newly appointed editor of ‘Architecture Ireland’ who opened the event and plans to dedicate an issue of ‘Architecture Ireland’ to the important role the Department of Architecture holds within the City of Waterford.

The event was curated by Máire Henry, Head of the Department of Architecture, Harry Bent and Alexandar Kostic 5th year architectural tutors.
There was a great turnout from students. 'It was a great opportunity to display our work and to have meaningful engagement with the public' says Daniel Simon 5th year architectural student.
