Time at WIT
2017-present
Why did you choose your course?
I chose the course because I had a strong passion and love for agriculture. I wanted to study at WIT because it has the best reputation for agriculture and it has a more personal feel than bigger colleges.
What was your experience?
My experience so far has been amazing. I signed up to the Agri-food debate not expecting to make the team. From the moment I signed up I’ve made friends which will last a life time, gained great experience in public speaking and also became more confident.
After we won the quarter final against queens university Belfast a sense of pride and passion came about.
We were trough to the semi final against UCC, it was a battle of the best after hearing our names called out as the winners we knew we couldn’t come home with out the trophy we had got so far we werent turning back.
After a very competitive debate about veganism with some personal stories along with hard cold facts, we were crowned the 2019 Great Agri-food debate winners.
Can you recall your feeling when finding out you were offered a place in WIT?
When I found out I got a place I was both relieved, overwhelmed and excited for the adventure that was to come.
What advice would you give to students considering your course?
Get involved in extra curricular activities it will help you in many ways.
Your course includes work placement, what was it like and how has it been of benefit?
I did a work placement on a dairy farm it introduced me to a very efficient and sustainable sector.
