Path into research
I completed the BSc. Degree in Applied Biology with Quality Management (2000) and enjoyed the research project module of my degree. I was offered a PhD research position by Dr Catherine O'Reilly after my degree.
PhD funding
Enterprise Ireland (2 years). VEC grant. Part-time Teaching to fund myself.

25 years of PhD graduates was marked at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2018. The institute was one the first of Ireland's regional technical colleges to award PhDs in 1993.
