WIT School of Business students commended for their "sheer professionalism, ingenuity and creativity" as Marketing Challenge celebrates its 10th year
The winning team for the 2016 Marketing Challenge has been announced as Jenna Eustace, Neasa O’Brien, Eibhlin O’Keeffe, Hazel McPartlan and David Neill.
Now in its tenth year, the Marketing Challenge is a hugely successful annual event hosted by the Waterford Institute of Technology School of Business. The challenge requires students from the BA in Marketing degree to develop a marketing strategy for an Irish business. This year the students were given the task of devising a marketing strategy for Boland’s BMW and MINI.
According to Dr. Thomas O’Toole, Head of School (Dean) of Business, "Action learning is vital in the current environment and the Marketing Challenge gives the students an opportunity to merge theory based classroom learning with practical application".
Each of the four teams presented their marketing ideas to the judging panel of Tara O'Toole (Bolands Marketing Manager), Rebecca Doyle (Bolands Financial Controller) and John McNamara (BMW Sales Manager).
Tara O’Toole said she was “highly impressed with the sheer professionalism, ingenuity and creativity of the students. Bolands would certainly re-examine their current marketing strategy on the basis of some excellent recommendations."
