Exciting and rewarding careers on offer for Construction Management graduates in a dynamic industry both in Ireland & internationally
A group of students from all 4 years of the Construction Management & Engineering programme at Waterford Institute of Technology recently visited the Cork offices of the PM Group. Colm Fitzgerald, Group Head of Construction Services, spoke to the students about the variety of services which the PM Group offer including: construction project management; engineering & architectural design, cost management; planning; and health & safety. The PM Group are an Irish company with a global reach, with in excess of 2,000 staff working on major projects across sectors such as pharmaceutical, food, energy and advanced manufacturing.
Colm talked about the variety of employment opportunities that are available for Construction Management graduates in both Ireland and internationally, with exciting and rewarding careers on offer in a dynamic industry. The PM Group offer a two year graduate programme which affords participants the opportunity to work across a range of disciplines in the company, supported by regular training and a dedicated mentor.
Many of the students were enthused to learn about the work of the PM Group and the opportunities that exist to develop a strong career in construction management. Colm advised the students to embrace opportunities for professional development and to recognise the need for continuous learning in the construction industry throughout their working life.
In concluding the visit, course leader, Brian Graham thanked Colm and his colleagues at the PM Group for taking the time to accommodate the visit and for giving the students a valuable insight into the exciting opportunities that await them upon graduation.
