WIT Business School and RIKON in association with PharmaChemical Ireland are hosting a seminar entitled "Lean in Pharma: Perspectives on the Lean Journey" on January 13th, 2014.
There has been a resurgence of interest in Lean philosophy and practice in recent years in response to increased global competition. In fact, many organisations now consider the effective adoption of ‘Lean Thinking’ as being a key success factor in enhancing strategic and operational effectiveness, which is reflected in government policy and strategy. The Forfás, ‘Making it in Ireland Report: Manufacturing 2020’, clearly identifies that lean principles and sustainable manufacturing cannot be ignored by any manufacturer in Ireland today.
This seminar will explore the case for, and the realities of, implementing lean practices in the PharmaChemical sector in Ireland. Mr Matt Moran, Director of PharmaChemical Ireland, will outline the importance of Lean Thinking with regard to sustaining competitiveness in the Pharmaceutical sector at a national, and global level.
Dr. Tom McCabe, CEO in Residence at SETU, will draw from his extensive senior management experience in Pharmaceutical sector to discuss the challenges of leading lean initiatives. Representatives from industry exemplars, such as Genzyme and TEVA, will also deliver presentations at this event. Speakers will explore themes such as leading lean initiatives, managing change and sustainability in lean practices and the strategic dimensions of lean.
The evening will conclude with a plenary session, exploring ‘Perspectives on the Lean Journey’. This promises to be an interesting and informative discussion that will include all speakers.
This free event is an unmissable opportunity for those that have an interest in lean practice, to gain insight, knowledge and understanding from leading experts in the field.
