Malcolm Proud a lecturer in the Department of Creative and Performing Arts has won ‘The Irish Times - Best Classical Music CD recording of 2013’ in an on-line poll, for his recording is of J.S. Bach’s Six Partitas for harpsichord on the Swiss based ‘Maya-Recordings’ label.
Malcolm is a senior lecturer and teacher of keyboard instruments on the BA Music Degree course at WIT and combines his teaching work with an international performing career as a harpsichordist and organist. He studied harpsichord with Gustav Leonhardt at the Amsterdam Conservatory and in 1982 won the Edinburgh International Harpsichord Competition. Since then, he has made over 30 CD recordings and performed all over the world. Malcolm is also a member of the Irish Baroque Orchestra.
