Daniel Jack Magnier graduating from the LLB Bachelor of Laws shares his advice on how to achieve a Law degree and the importance of certain subjects within law
Daniel Jack Magnier is from Rathangan, Co Kildare where he attended Arsdcoil Rathangan. He graduated with a Law degree from SETU in 2018.
What stands out for you about your experience at SETU?
Firstly, what stands out is the quality of lecturers in SETU. They teach to a very high standard.. The lecturers do put a lot of pressure on us to go to class but I believe that’s essential to success and I think it is very fair. I also felt the lecturers could help you out at any given time even outside class hours. You also never feel under pressure which is very important in final year.
What advice would you give someone considering law in SETU?
It depends what stage of your education you are at. I would say if you are in third year or below try and keep on Business and definitely History, as History plays a huge part when it comes to the Irish legal system and jurisprudence. For people who are maybe in 5th or 6th year, go for it it’s a great course and if the interest is there take the leap. Work hard, don’t forget to have a good time and go to class.
What are you currently doing?
I am currently sitting FE-1 exams and will commence a training contract as a trainee solicitor once I have completed all 8.
