An Exciting Week of New Music Launched

Humanities

The Department of Creative & Performing Arts at WIT and Garter Lane Arts Centre, have this week launched the 2013 New Music Week festival programme.

The Festival, which will run from Monday 4 to Sunday 10 February, will include 20 events across 8 city venues. All daytime events are FREE.

New Music Week is the only contemporary music festival in the South East.  It provides Waterford audiences the opportunity to experience and workshop new music with composers and musicians of an international standard.  The work of over 30 composers, many from Waterford and the South East, will be performed by in excess of 100 musicians across the week.

The festival should encourage you to just sit on a couch in the Central Library and listen to clarinet and cello, enjoy Buster Keaton on screen in Garter Lane, or let a 16 piece Big Band fill your every sense in the Theatre Royal. Enjoy this festival and be part of a new audience for new music.
