Mature, deferred, graduate entry medicine, and access applicants to log in to their CAO accounts to check if they have received a Round Zero offer

A specific group of people who are waiting on college offers have been asked by the CAO to check their offers from 10am on 8 August when the CAO Round Zero offers are issued.

Round Zero offers concern applicants who are not competing with those awaiting 2020 Leaving Certificate examination grades, or who are assessed on other criteria.

The applicants who fall into this category include graduate entry medicine applicants, additional mature applicants, deferred and Access applicants, and applicants presenting QQI FET/FETAC qualifications for consideration for entry to courses with a quota for QQI FET applicants.

Online offers

The offers will be available to view online from 10am (on 8 August). Successful applicants will also receive an email and a text message (if they have selected this option) with details of their offer.

A total of 5,432 offers will be issued by CAO today (8 August) to 4,411 applicants.  This year there were 3,676 Level 8 offers and 1,756 Level 7/6 offers issued in Round Zero.

3pm on 13 August acceptance deadline

The reply date by which applicants must accept their offer is 13 August at 3pm.

Speaking about the offer process, CAO communications officer Eileen Keleghan commented; “We urge mature, deferred, graduate entry medicine, and access applicants to log in to their CAO accounts today to check if they have received a Round Zero offer.

“QQI FET/FETAC applicants who applied for a course with a quota for QQI FET applicants should also check their account.

“Offers must be accepted by 3 pm on Thursday next, 13 August. Failure to accept an offer by the reply date will result in the offer being cancelled” she added.

Next round in September

To date, a total of 12,443 offers have been issued by CAO in Round A and Round Zero to a total of 9,955 applicants.

For all other successful applicants, Round One offers will be issued on Friday, 11 September. Round One offers will be available to view online only from 2pm on 11 September, and successful applicants will also receive offer notification by email and text message if they have selected this option. There will be no postal offer notices this year.

The reply date for Round One offers is 16 September at 3pm.

Round Two offers will be available to view online from 23 September at 10am.
