The Win Win podcast focuses on the world of sport, giving an insight into the assistance athletes receive in order to be the best they can be
Bruce Wardrop from the Department of Sport & Exercise Science is the host of the Win Win podcast. In each episode, Bruce chats with someone who works behind the scenes in sport helping athletes maximize their performance potential. If his guest is winning, hopefully their athletes are winning too.
Wardrop started the podcast in order to offer more varied content to his students while lecturing remotely. "I felt there was an opportunity to give my students more than just me lecturing & that this would keep things interesting.
“Obviously, guest speakers are off the agenda at the moment but I figured 'why not talk to these people anyway?' and package it up so that it is easy for the listeners to consume. The response so far has been great, both from the guests and the audience".
Professionals as guests
Guests include specialists in the area of strength & conditioning, nutrition, psychology, performance analysis, physiology and performance planning.
"With so many career paths available in sport, I feel it is really important to hear from professionals in these roles so you can get sense of what the job involves and how to work towards a career in that area. I've really enjoyed making the podcast and I'm excited to grow it over the coming semesters."
