Graduate Conversion Course in ICT and Software Development

There are lots of job vacancies in Ireland right now for people with the right ICT and software development skills.

Subject to funding through the ICT Skills Programme of the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and Department of Education & Skills, WIT is planning to offer a dedicated course to allow existing graduates from other disciplines to acquire the necessary skills and practical experience to work in ICT and software development.

Beginning in March 2013, students will complete two semesters of core modules on Programming, Networks, Web Development, Systems, Database and Developer Operations, along with specialist options including Mobile App Development, Enterprise Software Development and Security & Forensics.

All students will then have the opportunity to apply these skills and gain invaluable practical experience through a six-month work placement.

No tuition fees will be charged for this Higher Diploma in Science course.

Successful applicants who currently receive either the Jobseeker’s Allowance or Jobseeker’s Benefit may continue to receive these payments subject to Dept. of Social Protection terms and conditions.

Confirmation that the programme will run is expected by Monday, 28 January 2013. Full course information, eligibility and application details will be available at this webpage: www.wit.ie/ictskills.
