Fantastic opportunity for young sports stars in the south east as applications for SETU Viking Sport Rising Star are open and include great benefits
WIT Viking Sport and SETU Arena have come together to offer an amazing opportunity to young and upcoming sports stars in the south east: The SETU Viking Sport Rising Star programme.
The SETU Viking Sport Rising Star is an award which can be given to students in secondary school between 13 -17 years old in the south east area who have already achieved highly or show great potential in any sport.
What we can do for you
WIT Viking Sports and Scholarships Officer Jack Lyons believes it’s a fantastic opportunity for young people in the south east area.
“The programme is designed to give students a taste of what it is like to be on the SETU Viking Sport Scholarship programme while they are still in school. Some young sports stars may show fantastic potential but with the support services we can offer on the program, we can maybe take them to the next level.”
New format
The programme was previously ran through the SETU Arena as The SETU Arena Rising Star but it was decided to bring it under the bracket of the already established Sport Scholarship programme to progress the award and create a link to the programme for young sports stars in the region.
Recipients of the award will receive:
- WIT Viking Scholarship Gear
- Free Membership for the SETU Arena
- Free 1 v 1 Strength & Conditioning coaching
- High Performance Testing
- And more!
Some past Rising Stars include:
Maeve Williams - Women's Soccer - Ireland & Wexford Youths
Abby Flynn - Women's Basketball - Ireland & Waterford Wildcats
Applications can be made at www.wit.ie/WITVikingsRisingStar and the deadline for entries is 31 August 2020.
