Ms Siobhan Harkin, Research Manager at South East Technological University (WIT), has been appointed by the Government as a member of the Higher Education Authority.
Ms Harkin is one of seven new appointees to the HEA announced recently. The Chairman of the HEA, John Hennessy, said of the appointments: "With the addition of the skills and experience that these new members bring, the HEA position in implementing the National Strategy on Higher Education will be further strengthened."
Commenting on her appointment, Ms Harkin said: "I am very pleased to have been given this opportunity to contribute to the work of the Higher Education Authority and I look forward to working with colleagues at this challenging time in the development of Ireland’s higher education system”.
Ms Harkin was appointed Research Manager at SETU in 2008. She has previously worked in a number of roles in higher education in Ireland, including in the Irish Universities Association and the HEA. She has developed and contributed to national and EU policies and initiatives across many aspects of higher education.
