The current academic year has seen the demand for more flexible accommodation increase with this in mind WIT Novus student accommodation has recently launched its new flexi stay packages.
Background
Jacqui O’ Connor, WIT Novus Senior Accommodation Manager, explains the background to the safe and secure bespoke packages developed to meet the individual accommodation needs of students at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT).
“Given the current climate there was a requirement to provide accommodation packages to meet the individual student needs which varied from annual, monthly and weekly stays,” she says.
O’Connor adds that “accessibility of high speed Wi-Fi and individual study spaces in a safe and secure environment has also been hugely appealing to students.”
Students Union
WIT Students’ Union have supported this new venture and President John Fortune says “we welcome the flexi stay accommodation that WIT Novus is offering to students. In times like this it is great to see one of the largest accommodation providers in Waterford showing initiative and being as flexible as possible for students.”
Whilst flexibility is important the key to these packages is the health and safety measures that have been implemented. O’Connor provides an overview of the measures in place: “health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do at WIT Novus Accommodation.”
She continues “Our Covid-19 response plan has been implemented which includes digital temperature checks on arrival, sanitization stations, cleaning protocols, one-way systems and a no visitor policy. Our team are committed to providing an excellent & safe student experience and have been instrumental in supporting and implementing these measures."
This is something that Students’ Union concurred with, “the team in the Accommodation Office are great to work with and very student centric. We look forward to further working with the Team in WIT Novus to continue putting students first.”

WIT Novus student accommodation has been in operation for over 20 years providing support for students across their two accommodation blocks ‘City & College Campuses’. Their apartments are equipped with single ensuite rooms, high speed Wi-Fi, individual study spaces and 24/7 security.
