Students of the BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science presented their final year research at a poster session held in the Atrium at SETU on Friday, 17 May 2019.
This was their last assessment as undergraduates on the programme. Students analysed and summarised their project laboratory work carried out over the semester, and designed, prepared and presented a poster to staff, industry representatives and fellow students. Each student presented a 5 minute pitch and answered questions on their project by the assessing staff members. Feedback from both students and staff was that this was a really enjoyable way to discuss their project work and to finish their four years at SETU.
Kevin O`Connor and Emma Walsh were also in attendance from Sanofi who kindly sponsored two prizes for the best research poster and pitch to Megan Quigley and Valeriya Semenyaka. There were two runners-up Hilkiah Ako and Sophie Meehan. The prizes were presented at the Department of Science Industry Awards Ceremony. Head of School of Science and Computing Dr Peter McLoughlin commented that the standard and variety of posters across all aspects of the programme was excellent.
