What attracted you to study at Waterford Institute of Technology?
The facilities in WIT especially the sports campus in Carriganore which was officially opened as the WIT Arena in my first year of college. The locality of the college to my house which was five minutes walking distance was a major selling point for me and the reputation that the college had from talking to students who would have come through the course and the college before I came in.
Did you always know this was the course you wanted to do?
I knew I always wanted to work in sports but didn't know what area when I first came out of school, I applied for all three sports course in WIT, recreation and sports management, sport coaching and performance and exercise and health. When applying through the CAO I received a reserved place on the recreation and sports management course for outstanding sporting achievement prior to my time in WIT. When this place was reserved for me I looked more in the recreation and sports management and really like the thought of 50/50 with sport and business.
What words of advice do you have for new students?

Winning the CFAI cup with the soccer team in 2019 was one of the top highlights but also going into college everyday knowing at some stage you will have a smile on your face even when you least expect it.
How did work placement add to your college experience?
Getting real world experience through work placement in second year really help me focus in third and fourth year to know what path I wanted to take when I finish the course in WIT.
