Online facilities and additional world-class ‘anytime, anywhere’ exercise proposition further enhances the WIT Arena's commitment to excellence

In its response to the current pandemic and to assist its many student and public members the WIT Arena has launched its own online virtual gym platform. Using the expertise of its staff has allowed them to provide a unique online offering which offers live classes taught by WIT Arena instructors, as well as nutritional advice and personalised home programmes.

The unique offering builds on WIT Arena’s large class attendances and individual gym users, their specialised ‘Be Active’ groups such as Ex-well (for cancer patients in recovery), De-frail (Older adults with mobility issues) and Move On (for members recovering from Cardiac issues).

Sports packages available to members

The WIT Arena’s sport packages currently cater for elite and scholarship athletes both individual and teams but they are expanding this out to cater for all sport users during this time of limited training options. The platform caters for a wide and varied range of activities for gym users, active ageing and athletes who during this time may find themselves cocooning or with limited access to specific programs to meet their needs.

As part of this offering the WIT Arena also unveiled details of on-demand virtual group exercise classes. This new benefit comes as the result of a collaboration with digital partner Wexer, a world leader in the delivery of on demand virtual fitness, which will cater for almost 10 million online users across the globe this year. Wexer will provide WIT Arena members with a virtual library of thousands of different types of classes taught by some of the best instructors in the world. This platform will give online members an additional resource when it comes to meeting their fitness goals supported by the team at the WIT Arena.

Anytime, anywhere

CEO of WIT Novus Mike Geoghegan said “we are delighted to be in a position to provide this exciting and new virtual offering to our members. It’s a great opportunity to support and bring people together at this very challenging time. John Windle and his team at the WIT Arena have been excellent in adjusting to this new way of operating and I can only commend them and their professionalism. Our collaboration with Wexer allows us to add huge value to our members and further enhances our commitment to excellence with an additional world-class ‘anytime, anywhere’ exercise proposition added to the offering.”

Ross Payne, European Business Development Manager at Wexer commented “Wexer are delighted to welcome WIT Arena as special partners into their global digital fitness community."

The offerings focus very much on a holistic approach to fitness – there is a number of weekly and on demand classes delivered by the expert teams at the WIT Arena and Wexer. Further support is provided through individual programme planning including nutrition, exercise and lifestyle as well as optional weekly check-in. The community feel is attained through a number of open class platforms allowing for that in class feel in your own home.

Wellbeing benefits

WIT Arena Manager, John Windle spoke about the health and wellbeing benefits of the WIT Arena’s latest offering. “We wanted this to be more than just a fitness programme, this offering caters for young and old, those who are already on their fitness journey and those who are just beginning. The Wexer portal allows users to stream their choice of virtual classes – anytime, anywhere ensuring a greater element of flexibility. Connecting through our online community classes and coach engagements is one of the core values of our new platform. Whilst we envisage this virtual platform will become part of our long term offering we know the value of connection and look forward when the time is right to returning to the WIT Arena”.
