Sports Coaching and Performance student who is also a Bronze Sports Scholarship recipient achieved 4th place in the world at the 2018 Freestyle World Cup
Having represented Ireland for a number of years on the Irish Freestyle Team, SETU's David McClure once again represented Ireland at the 2018 Freestyle World Cup in Sort, Spain.
David is one of SETU Kayaking Club's top members and a final year Sports Coaching And Performance student.
After proceeding through his heats as well as the Quarter and Semi-Finals he made his way into the Finals, scoring a solid score of 466.67 to land him in overall 4th place. Along with Freestyle Kayaking, David is also an extremely impressive Canoe Polo player and has won medals for the club competing at Long Distance at Intervarsities.
David is currently studying for his final year in Sports Coaching and Performance and also is a Bronze Sports Scholarship student and hopes to compete once more before he leaves SETU and continues on with the Institute's sport scholarship programme.
