The SETU Vikings Sport and Societies newsletter gathers in one place the latest news from students involved in sports clubs and societies
This edition takes a look at SETU Vikings Sport together with SETU Novus, proudly announcing that they are the first in Ireland to be awarded the international FISU Healthy Campus Certification. Following on from that, as part of our FISU Healthy Campus initiative we take a look at our Nutrition & Healthy Eating programme in conjunction with SETU Novus Food and Beverage.
We also wish our UPMC Elite sport scholar Phil Healy the very best of luck in the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships along with her coach Shane McCormack. We hear from former SETU Vikings Soccer Club player and 2019 CFAI cup winning captain Cormac Breslin in episode 1 of our new SETU Vikings TV series. We promote our Marchathon steps challenge in conjunction with Student Life and Learning and too take a look both at our SETU Vikings Sport Scholarship Awards and SETU Vikings Societies Awards of past.
We congratulate SETU Arena ambassador Niamh Briggs for being voted Irish Rugby women's player of the decade and also acknowledge the sad passing of Freddie Robinson, a former coach/manager with the SETU Vikings Soccer Club and a great servant to SETU.
