Allianz National Hurling League Final
WIT Novus Business Development Operations Manager Páraic Fanning leads Waterford into the league final for the first time since 2015 where they will face current All-Ireland Champions Limerick. The Waterford squad features 12 current and former Sports Scholarship students from the College with former student Noel Connors captaining the side. The SETU connection is further enhanced with the SETU Arena acting as the training base for the Waterford Squad. SETU Arena staff member Joey O’ Brien and former SETU staff member Stephen Barrett are part of the backroom team. Speaking ahead of the game manager Páraic Fanning couldn’t hide his excitement ahead of this historic triple header, “We’re just delighted we have a game next week playing against the best team in the country, Limerick. We know it’s a massive challenge against them but it’s brilliant to be there. We’re excited to be there and we’re looking forward to testing ourselves against them.” The game throws in at 2pm.
Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Final
The Kilkenny Senior team managed by former SETU Vikings Camogie Manager Ann Downey will be hoping to win their fourth title in a row when they take on Galway in the Division 1 league decider. Similarly, to the Waterford side the Kilkenny team features a host of former and current SETU Sports Scholarship students with Aoife Doyle and Danielle Morrissey the most recent. Star forward Michelle Quilty is a current employee of SETU Novus and former SETU student Brian Dowling is part of the backroom team. Throw in for this game is 12.00pm
