Research Group for Design and Social Innovation (DASI)

DASI - Design & Social Innovation Research Group

Design for social innovation is design that is concerned with human interactions, communication and social structures. Through design research and design thinking, social innovation aims to improve lives and accommodates the aspirations of our society.

The Research Group for Design and Social Innovation (DASI) investigates social systems and aims to propose alternatives to existing methods of communicating and interacting. We take an ethnographic approach to design research, combined with a practical approach to defining problems and finding solutions.

We focus on “Design for Society”, including design for social and business organisations. We offer our expertise as part of the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher scheme, and we are building design research expertise through our postgraduate programmes.
