The main areas of research are cultural studies, heritage and enterprise development. This group was formed in tandem with the twinning of St. Johns, Newfoundland with Waterford City. It focused on the shared historical and cultural connections between the two regions.
The Centre for Newfoundland & Labrador Studies facilitates the maintenance and progression of the unique relationship that exists between Ireland and Newfoundland/ Labrador. It assists and advises on all areas of collaborate research across all college disciplines throughout southeast communities and nationally.
Although its remit is to facilitate the entire range of disciplines, the Centre currently concentrates on humanities, business and science.
