AIB Centre for Finance and Business Research

The Centre aims to promote high-quality research in the finance discipline and provide for advanced scholarship, research activity and knowledge transfer. Research activity spans across four key themes; namely, Behavioural Finance, Governance and Corporate Responsibility, Small Firm Finance and Personal Finance.

It provides research scholarships, hosts seminars/workshops and encompasses a strong regional dimension to its work with the publication by three of the Centre’s members of an annual South East Economic Monitor since 2016. To date CFBR has five PhD graduates and currently has eight PhD students

The South East Network for Economic and Social Research (SENSER) is an independent research initiative of two research centres in Waterford Institute of Technology- the AIB Centre for Finance and Business Research (AIB-CFBR) and Centre for Enterprise Development and Regional Economy (CEDRE). It brings together applied economics, finance, sociology and business researchers to improve the understanding of the South East of Ireland’s regional economy with a particular focus on the labour market.
