South East Technological University actively encourages and promotes interaction between the university and external parties such as business, government and the community. It interacts with these organisations in a number of different ways including:

- Access to specialised facilities and consultancy services
The Industry Services Office within the Office of Research & Innovation at SETU Waterford promotes and facilitates interaction between the university and external organisations.
Collaborating on Research
In line with SETU Waterford’s objectives, ongoing research activity is conducted in conjunction with a variety of partners, for example, large and small industries, both at a National and European level, government agencies, and public sector research institutes.
