Every staff member except for students is allowed to keep a "Contact expert" button on their Pure profile.
-
There are multiple reasons why log on is not possible:
- Your browser saved your SETU account or password with a typing error or incorrect capitalisation. Clear all saved passwords via the settings of the browser.
- Your SETU affiliation ended more than 90 days ago. Please contact [email protected].
- Your data is not yet imported from the CoreHR system. Please contact [email protected].
-
Yes, you can.
Please contact [email protected] to find out the best way.
-
Yes, this is possible.
You can also add other non-SETU output. For example, when you have a simultaneous appointment at another University.
-
Yes, you can display any publications from your previous institution on your Pure profile page, however these will not be displayed on the profile of your Department and School.
-
Other than for your Personal Profile Page and Research Publications, your output data will be used for reporting on SETU research for annual reports, accreditations and school reviews along with the biannual HERD survey.
In addition, external parties can re-use your output meta data (when visibility is set to public in Pure) to index or show on a web page. For example, Scopus and google Scholar index the public records of SETU Research Publications to show in their search results.
-
Research Publications does this automatically.
-
Outputs are listed in Research Publications and your Personal Profile Page when the workflow status of your work is validated and set to publicly visible in Pure.
-
Each profile in the database automatically includes a ‘Fingerprint,’ a set of weighted terms that is based on a text analysis of publications in Pure, as well as other information added into your profile. You can remove Fingerprint terms that are no longer relevant, but you cannot add Fingerprints. Additional information you put into your profile is indexed, weighted and added in to the Fingerprint algorithm.
You can edit your fingerprint by following these steps:
1. Go into ‘Edit profile’.
2. Select ‘Fingerprints’ under the ‘Overview’ section.
3. Hover over the fingerprint you wish to delete and press the ‘x’ button beside it.
4. Press the ‘Save’ button.
A deleted fingerprint will appear in a new section called ‘Omitted concepts’ underneath ‘Included Concepts’ and may be added back by hovering over it and pressing the ‘+’ button beside it.

When you need to provide a list of publications to accompany a promotion request, for example, here is the simple way to do it:
1. Log onto Pure.
2. Go to your list of publications by selecting the Search Results menu, option "My Search Results" or Research output "My Research Outputs.
3. Next, choose the order in which you would like the research results to be presented. For publication lists, you may like to receive publication lists sorted in reverse date order (newest to oldest).
4. To do this, click on the "Sort by" or "Sort by" button at the top right of the publication list.
This opens a menu to choose the sort order, select Year of publication ↓. If the up arrow is shown, click a second time on publication year.
5. Your publication list should now look presentable:
6. To save your publication list, simply click on the PDF menu below the publication list and choose either the Harvard format or the standard format (if you wish to see the type of each publication below it).
7. Your list of publications can be found in the download window of your web browser.
