19 new PhD scholarships announced

The first PhD student graduated from WIT in 1994 and 25 years on, we are delighted to announce 19 new and exciting PhD scholarships for Waterford Institute of Technology – 15 WIT PhD Scholarships and 4 Industry Co-Fund Scholarships. Projects for these scholarships are listed below.

Each successful WIT PhD scholarship and Industry Co-Fund scholarship recipient will receive a stipend of €48,000 over the four-year period of their PhD studies at the Institute and will also benefit from their fees being covered for four years as well as having a small expense budget.

These 4 year structured PhD scholarships align with international best practice ensuring the scheme will not only generate impactful research outputs but will also allow students the opportunity to engage in a range of training and professional development opportunities.
