Engagement
The School actively supports engagement with partner and stakeholder organisations representing industry and social and community partners across the South East region, in addition to involvement with national agencies and networks.
Engagement with partners enables the School to support the SETU Waterford Mission of being collaborative and cooperative, supporting equality and diversity and actively supporting social, economic and cultural development in the region.
Industry, Social and Community Partners
The School represents SETU Waterford on the South East Regional Skills Forum, a national forum that brings industry together with education partners to support and facilitate the development of programmes and initiatives designed to support the existing and future skills needs of the South East.
We also work with individual organizations, both regionally and nationally in the development of programmes addressing specific skills needs and the provision of access and progression routes for lifelong learners who wish to return to third level to up-skill or change their career.
The School is engaged with regional networks and organisations such as Waterford Chambers, SkillNet, Waterford Childcare Committee, South East Education Centres, Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board and Waterford Womens Centre. Initiatives with social and community partners have included new programme development, the creation of new access routes into existing programmes and the co-development of initiatives addressing specific local needs.
At a national level, the School works in partnership with a number of agencies and organisations including the National Adult Literacy Agency, SOLAS, the Teaching Council and a number of other Higher Education institutions.
Our engagement activities are informed by our values; we believe in the power of community, in inclusivity and partnership and in the co-creation, exchange and sharing of knowledge. We work closely with our partners in a collaborative manner to ensure positive outcomes for students and social and economic impact for the region.
