The Kids Music Club previously known as Discovering Music has been an integral part of SETU Waterford Music School for over 10 years. It’s a fun & exciting way for children to explore & learn about music. Each child will have the opportunity to experience and discover music in a safe and relaxed environment.
The children learn the basic rudiments of music, pitch and pulse through songs, drama, dance and percussion instruments. The classes also provide the children with co-ordination, teamwork, listening and discipline skills. The aim of Kids Music Club is to provide children with a basic understanding of music and help them to develop an interest in music from an early age.
The Kids Club Music is a two-year programme for children aged 4-6 years, held on Saturday mornings at the SETU Waterford Music School. The complete year is 30 weeks duration, divided into two terms of 15 weeks. Children are encouraged on completion of the two-year programme to participate in the junior group classes such as piano, recorder, Suzuki cello & the choral programme.
Parents & SETU Waterford Music School staff members are also encouraged to be active with the children of the Kids Music Club through instrument demonstrations & participation in the children’s concerts. The ‘goodbye song’ and ‘quiet time’ have now become part of the folklore of Kids Club Music Saturday morning and Summer Camp sessions, and is actively passed on from sibling to sibling and friends.
Kids Club Music at the SETU Waterford Music School is an excellent start for your child in his or her musical journey.
