Postgraduate & CPD Courses

Accredited & Flexible Pathways

The School of Engineering has a proud record of successfully delivering postgraduate courses for over 20 years. These courses are at Level 9 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications and typically lead to MSc or MEng awards. Our CPD courses lead to Certificates/Minor Awards and are typically focussed on particular skill-sets required for relevant Professional Development and employment opportunities.

The students on our postgraduate and CPD courses are a mix of full-time and part-time. Those undertaking the MSc or MEng courses on a full-time basis typically complete within a calendar year, usually September to September. Part-time students typically take two years to complete and many do so while continuing to work. Our postgraduate and CPD portfolio of courses is increasingly being offered in more flexible ways. This includes the use of eLearning technologies as well as off-campus work-based and work-integrated learning approaches.

Our postgraduate student profile and student activity is also increasingly International. Approximately 15% of our current students are International. The learning outcomes and the content of our postgraduate courses are highly influenced by International best practice (education and industrial).

We work closely with relevant Irish and International Professional Institutions and Associations in the development and delivery of our postgraduate courses. This is to ensure that our courses and programmes are at the required national and international standards and that graduates have employment options at home and abroad.  These organisations include the following:
