Undergraduate Study

Currently,the Department provides undergraduate programmes of nursing leading to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and the award of a BSc with Honours in General Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Intellectual Disabilities Nursing.

The Department also offers an innovative applied health care programme that leads to an award of a BSc in Applied Health Care.

The Undergraduate programmes in the Department are unique in their focus on:

  • Integrated student support including your own personal study advisor

  • Assessment of your multiple intelligences and preferred learning style in year 1

  • Incorporation of teaching for multiple intelligences throughout the programme (MITA)

  • Small group teaching for developing your clinical skills for practice
