A very warm welcome to the School of Humanities
The School of Humanities at WIT comprises three academic departments: the Department of Applied Arts; the Department of Creative and Performing Arts; and the Department of Languages, Tourism and Hospitality. It is the largest academic School in WIT with a compliment of over 150 lecturing staff, offering a broad range of exciting programmes, student-centred teaching and opportunities to engage in ground-breaking research.
Our diverse and innovative selection of programmes at Higher Certificate, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral levels span a wide range of disciplines including Art, Design, Music, Theatre Studies, Social Studies, Law, Religious Studies, Languages, Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism.
In the School of Humanities we pride ourselves in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere which is enhanced by relatively small class sizes where we get to know our students personally and support them at every stage in their learning, guiding them towards success.
Key to our teaching approach is a strong link between theory and practice. Through dynamic and research-led approaches to learning, and opportunities for work placement and international study, our graduates acquire a range of transferable skills that equip them to meet the complex challenges and opportunities of the global work place.
The School is home to a vibrant research community with myriad regional, national and international links. Our experienced team of academic staff will be pleased to advise you further.
Feel free to contact us if you have any queries, or visit us at one of our open days: you will be most welcome.
