Welcome to the Industry Services & Technology Transfer Office which works within the Office of Research, Innovation & Graduate Studies to support the development of innovation and entrepreneurial activities within the Institute.
South East Technological University is committed to providing a research & development environment to support industry in the South East region and throughout Ireland. SETU Waterford collaborates across a spectrum of industries from multinationals to SME and entrepreneurs driving the development of the knowledge economy for the South-East region and beyond.
SETU Waterford has a number of Applied Research Centres in the areas of Telecommunications, Applied Materials, Pharmaceutical & Molecular Biotechnology and Eco-Innovation. The Applied Research Centres have the resources and capability required to translate research in science, engineering and technology into commercial benefits. SETU Waterford has a track record of licensing its technologies and supporting the creation of spin-out companies.
Waterford Institute of Technology’s Technology Transfer Office forms a key part of the Institute’s core infrastructure supporting research and innovation. The SETU Waterford Technology Transfer Office is funded by the Enterprise Ireland Technology Transfer Strenghtening Initiative and is part of a consortium, along with Athlone IT, and IT Carlow and led by Maynooth University.
